It’s cliche to say it, but it really felt like it would never come. Our cookbook, Master the Electric Pressure Cooker is ready to order and be shipped out to all you wonderful people’s homes! I’m ecstatic beyond words and I am just dying to know what you think!
Before I dive into the book, allow me a moment to be real with you all (but if you want to skip all this touchy, feely stuff, scroll on down to the part where I gush about the book and tell you about a giveaway!).
I’m incredibly new to this blogging world, I probably do a lot of things that the experts say you should never do. I’ve likely messed up settings and links and written things that were appalling or embarrassing, purely out of being naive and in a sense, a child in this food bloggin’ world. You can just look at these pictures and see how awkward I am in ANY kind of spotlight!
So as I sat down to write all about our cookbook, Master the Electric Pressure Cooker, and why you should get it . . . my mind went completely blank. It took me days of thinking and jotting down sales pitch notes to finally realize that as much as I want everybody in the world to buy our book and die happy every time they cook from it, the meaning of the book sat much deeper inside of me. This book for me is all about the Power of Sisterhood.
The very moment that thought entered my mind, I got chills over every inch of my body and my eyes welled up with tears. I knew then, without a doubt that that was the message I wanted to share. I haven’t the faintest idea how many will even take the time to read this, but whether it's for the masses or for a few, it’s the message I want to share.
POWER OF SISTERHOOD
Our first taste of sisterhood was when we were barely teenagers. My father had passed away when we were younger and my brothers had recently left on missions for our church. I remember joking about it with my mom, Cami, and my youngest sister Maegan, looking at our all girl home and saying, “We got this!”.
And together, we did get it, we owned it, and we rocked it, in our all girl home! We were an unbreakable Sisterhood.
I would be amiss if I didn’t say that our strength came from our leader, our mother. My mom had to be a tremendously strong human being to overcome and thrive how she did. Watching her example I believe is what made us girls the strong willed woman we are. But she also taught us softness, manners, respect, and to honor and cherish our future husbands.
So bringing this back to our cookbook. This book came about from 4 strong women, and it wouldn't mean nearly as much to me if I hadn’t done it with all of them.
MOM
My mama taste tested my food, and there’s nobody in this world who would more happily give me an honest opinion. She read everything I wrote and endlessly reminded me that my sentences go on more like a paragraph and that sometimes I just need to get to the point and stop rambling. She was also the ever present ear. There’s no one that can listen like my mom. She’s wise, she’s blunt, and she’s great at telling me to stop feeling sorry for myself and get to work. Whenever I start to degrade myself, I hear my mom's words in my head, “Now you knock it off. The fact that you want to be better is sign enough that you are a wonderful human being.” Thanks mom, I love you!
YOUNGEST SIS
Now to my sis, Maegan, AKA my food soul sister. She has been the greatest support whenever I needed it. And that is typically at 4 a.m. when I need someone to text that won’t be bugged (Ahem…Cami…cough, cough). My brain is alive with ideas early in the morning and Maegan is the reason behind some of my greatest creations. Her cooking is delicious and her palate is spot on. When I needed to rapidly develop new recipes for this printed version of the book, she willingly cooked and tested every single recipe so I could know my recipes and directions were on point. She’s 8 years younger than me and if it weren’t for her glowy, unwrinkled skin, you would never know it. She’s put together, knowledgeable, motivated, and can take command of a situation better than I will ever be able to do. Thanks Maegs, I love you!
TIDBITS SIS
Now to Cami, the person of the sisterhood I have the least amount of things common with, but somehow together, we can seriously kick some butt. This book would have never come to existence without Cami’s vision of what it could one day be. Cami is one of the hardest working individuals I know. We spent hours upon hours cooking, shooting, writing, designing, etc, etc, and every time one of us thought we were going to crack and crumble under the pressure, the other was there to be the stronger more level headed individual. She pushed me out of my comfort zone and opened up a world to me that I could feel passionate about. How ironic that my younger sister is the one who showed me my potential and revealed a world to me that I couldn’t see before in my incredibly routine ways. This cookbook and this blog that she helped me create has brought me more stress and work than I had ever imagined it would, but it freed my soul and unlocked a creativity in my mind I didn’t realize was there. Thank you Cami, I love you!
It is because of this sisterhood, particularly with Cami, that this book means so much. If I had gone it alone and had only my name written on the cover of the book, it wouldn’t have near the impact on me. Together we lost sleep, we felt anxiety, and we felt pushed beyond what we thought we could take. Together we had fears that froze us, doubts that drained us, and contention that made us question what we were doing.
But in the end, together we felt giddy anticipation of the future, an overwhelming sense of accomplishment, and exhilarating joy for every moment and opportunity that has come with this book so far. Together we dived into our first copy of the book and relived the tears and laughter that came with each recipe (like when I cooked halibut for a photo shoot and we basically held our breath until the smell was returned to it’s tightly sealed container! Drama Queens? Yes!)
This cookbook is the treasure it is because we did it together. 1 mama and 3 sisters, we dug deep, we worked hard and together we owned it, we rocked it!
ON TO THE BOOK!
Now for those of you that are still reading (bless you!!), let me go ahead and tell you why you NEED Master the Electric Pressure Cooker in your life!
After the release of the ebook version of this book in 2016, I asked buyers what they wanted more of, and the majority said dinner recipes. So that’s what we did and they are full flavored (no bland food round here!) and blow your socks off good. Each with just enough twist to keep dinner memorable and worth the effort.
For Example:
DINNER
Barbacoa Beef Burritos covered with the love of my life- Butternut Squash Nacho Cheese Sauce
Easy HEALTHY Tamales (no joke, they’re healthy) – a meat lovers version and a veggie version with goat cheese – nuff' said
Barbecue Jerk Pork Ribs that that are finger lickin’ good, or in my kids case – plate, pan, fork, face, and finger lickin’ good
Teriyaki Fish Tacos with Mango Cucumber Salsa that turned me into a fish lover (well a selective fish lover, anyways) created by my favorite Hawaiian, Rich Lum
Smoked Paprika “Roasted” Chicken bursting with flavor and so incredibly tender
Easy Meatball Marinara that I could eat every week for the rest of my life (especially in meatball sub form!)
Mongolian Beef with Quick Pickled Vegetables – has all the flavor of a good authentic version with a fraction of the sugar
And more!
BREAKFAST
I also amped up the breakfast section with healthy whole grain breakfasts like:
Apple Cinnamon Walnut Custard Steel Cut Oats – it’s takin’ my routine steel cut oat game to a whole new level of creamy, rich, and decadent (but still breakfast!)
Cherry Pineapple Upside-Down Steel Cut Oats – A dessert turned into a healthy, filling breakfast
AND MORE!
I’ve added a sugar free Vanilla “Cheesecake” (quotations added because it’s actually a cashew cream) to my dessert section that I adore with my whole heart
New Infused Honey Flavors (chocolate!)
There's another take on a savory cheesecake – Sun-dried Tomato Pesto Cheesecake (the Tomato Vinaigrette is ridiculous!)
And on and on and on.
Each recipe features 1 or more tips and tricks to make your life easier, your food divine-er, and your pressure cooking game stronger!
Oh wow, I am out of breath with excitement just writing all that. I adore these recipes, and I can confidently say that you will too! I have a passion for making whole grain, healthy, low sugar recipes that people can’t help but fall in love with. Then, so my kids never accuse me of having no dessert skills, I’ve also included some sugar loaded, decadent, heart warming treats to make sure you can experience balance in all things.
Thank you all for your tremendous support, the book preorders, and your kind words as I’ve hoped and prayed for this book to be a success. Each and every purchase makes my heart skip a beat with joy! If I could, I would thank each and every one of you with a big pot of piping hot Crio Bru.
I can’t wait to hear of your experiences with Master the Electric Pressure Cooker as you read it, use it, and gaze upon Cami’s beautiful photography. Your comments mean the world to me!

Sisterhood! Yes, thank you for your story. It brought back memories. My mom was a wonderful cook and baker! I remember all the times she taught me her “secret” recipes! She has advanced dementia now and I try to help her remember the times she baked and cooked. She loved cookbooks! Her collection is still in her kitchen.
Zoeann says
I savored every word you wrote about sisterhood. My two sisters and I recently completed one of the most difficult, challenging and yet rewarding journeys of our lives. My extraordinary mother recently came to the end of her 92 year life due to dementia/Alzheimer’s related illness. My sisters and I held Mom, and each other, together through such incredibly difficult days. I am so grateful for the strength and the love of my sisters. One of my greatest joys was cooking for Mom as her illness progressed. Pressure cooking was invaluable in making flavorful, healthy meals that she could eat. Now that she is gone I am looking forward to starting a new chapter in my cooking. Your book looks amazing. I can’t wait to add it to my collection of favorites. Thank you for your meaningful words about your sisterhood and for sharing your exciting recipes. I wish you great success with your beautiful book!!!
Heather says
I’m thankful for my sister, who encourages me in everything, and my cousin, who always has the best recipes to share. Neither has an instant Pot, though I’ve been working to sell them on the idea! Maybe a cookbook with new recipes would help. ????
Jessica says
I have a younger sister. Love her a lot, but I don’t think we could write a cookbook together! LOL. Even so, we’re always “there” for each other, from a distance.
Julie T says
Looks awesome!!
Ali says
I’m so excited for you gals and the journey you’ve been on! The recipes sound amazing!

My mom didn’t “teach” me but I learned so much from watching her cook. I’m so grateful for her example because I definitely wouldn’t be the cook I am today with her!
Megan says
My mother in law is my cooking inspiration. She held “Pie Camp” every Thanksgiving when my husband and I were dating and engaged. Her house was the first time I got to help in the kitchen and feel useful!!
Deb says
For my Mom who taught me to love cooking and my daughter who is starting to learn
Saeeda says
My soul sisters are my mom and sister. Looking forward to mastering the instant pot with your help 🙂
Denise says
I really need to learn how to utilize my Mother;s pressure cooker that she gave me several years ago. I’m a bit afraid to use it out of fear of doing something wrong and making my family ill. No Joke! I would love a chance to win a copy of the book to get myself familiar and gain some confidence to use it. Thank you for the opportunity!
Alicia says
Congratulations!
My mom and grandma started teaching me how to cook/bake when I was about 9 years old. And now I’m passing that on with my two children. I received my Instant Pot for my birthday and love it!
Anne-Claire says
Maybe this will convince me to actually use my pressure cooker and not have this fear that it’ll blow up. To my mom who has always had the best homecooked meals and has inspired me to learn. And to my brother who inspires me to try new cooking methods, recipes, and see cooking as a joy rather than a burden.
Ter says
Congratulations on your cook book, it looks fantastic. I think my BFF Gail will love it
Gina says
Thanks to Rich Lum, I am browsing your blog for recipes and excited to try some, especially the infused water, and demo it during the Instant Pot party next week.

For my beloved bride who cooked for me for 50+ years. Now it’s my turn to cook for her!
Tricia says
Congratulations on your book. I too share the love of cooking with my 2 sisters and discuss recipes and cooking advice routinely.
Karen says
To my Mom that I miss so much. Who never got to meet her triplet (now 9)grandsons but would have loved them to the moon and back. Her “pumpkindoodle” sayings of endearment are just right for one grandson that could eat pumpkin pie everyday just like his grandma.
She introduced me to the pressure cooker not by teaching me but by cooking using one in our home. Later I was curious and tried the IP and love it. Even tried the regular one too! She would let me make the biggest mess to cook dinner and I wouldn’t have to clean it up. She made cooking a joy for me and for that I am thankful❤️
Anita says
Looks amazing!!! I am trying to use my Instant Pot more often and this book will be soooo helpful!! 🙂 Congrats on the book!! 😀 Rock on – mom and 3 sisters!!
Liz says
For my mother that taught all 5 of her children to cook, bake, and survive on our own with good home cooking food. I also taught my 3 children to cook home cooked meals. I will be buying my daughter and son their very own pressure cooker to enjoy. Hope they get as much enjoyment from the pressure cooker that I do. Also, Congratulations to the both of you! Cant wait to get my cookbook!
Kristy tidwell says
To my hubby who also encourages me to cook whatever my heart desires
Patti says
My sisterhood is my three sisters and mom, we love to cook, eat and travel together!
Sharon J. says
I went to college only knowing how to make cookies, but no meals. I took a cooking class at college, and my professor & TA’s basically taught me all I know (so thankful to them)! I’ve come a long way, but am definitely hoping to add variety to my cooking!
Vicki Bentley says
The sisterhood here in our part of the Shenandoah Valley is comprised of my eight daughters and me, and a sweet bunch of granddaughters tossed into the mix. Cooking is a huge part of our family culture… so we do family dinners and baby showers (lots of them) and birthday dinners and cakes (lots of them — we’re on grandbaby #22 and great-grandbaby #4, so far) and family reunions, cookie baking days, and Moms Night Out, and so much more. I am so honored that my girls and I still love to be with each other, and it brings tears to my eyes to know that they are all best friends. And all my local gals and I have Instant Pots, so we’d love to play with the cookbook! 🙂
Jeanna says
I can’t thank my mom enough for teaching me to cook, and props to my sister for always sharing recipes!
Debbie says

We have so much cooking together! I’d love to get a copy of your book! And in case I don’t win, I just put your book on my Amazon wish list! ????
Debbie says
Congrats on the new cookbook! My sisterhood… A group of my friends were all consultants for a scrapbooking company and bonded over a couple years of conventions. One year was just off and we named ourselves the Disters because of all of the screwy things that were happening. Many years later, we still all love each other but some have moved. We can’t get together monthly like we used to do.
Heather says
So exciting!! Sisterhood is such a real and powerful thing. Wouldn’t be who I am today without the positive influence of my mom, sisters, grandmas, and friends.
Kathlyn says
My pressure cooker isn’t fancy but I don’t think that will matter with good recipes from your book!
Tina says
Marci,
I have loved trying your recipes and following your blog since I saw you and Cami present at Pinners in SLC. In fact, I made your Skyr yogurt for the first time yesterday and LOVED it!!! Good luck on the success of your cookbook!!!

Tammy says
How wonderful I am looking forward to your cookbook. Our family loves to cook and most of us still prefer a cookbook than searching the net. I am the second youngest of nine girls and have two girls of my own. I love my Instant pot and I am enticing and encouraging my sisters towards getting one. Both of my girls are quite impressed and know they are getting an Instant pot for Christmas this year. Your cookbook would be a great accompaniment with their gift. Our family loves to cook.
Lindsey says
Your book looks amazing! Congrats!
I love cooking for my friends and family. Someday maybe I will get to do something like this with my little sister 😉
Julie says
I am trying to encourage my daughter to branch out with her food choices but she is starved by the time we get home at night. I was hoping the instant pot could help me get dinner done faster so she would try something besides microwaved mac and cheese and nuggets.
Karen says
I love cookbooks, as my Mom, though a good baker, was not a great cook (my Dad mostly kept us fed). They encouraged my brother and I to explore cooking, and when we were old enough we all took turns at dinner.
Dena says
P.S. And let’s not forget those sons-in-law who did their share by eating all that food. Thank you for supporting my daughters
Carol says
No sisters, but my cousin was 5 weeks younger. Just found you the fruit infused water recipes looks awesome
Becky says
Congratulations
This book looks fantastic
Dena says
Momma says, we’ll done Marci, Cami, and Maegan. I knew you could do it. And I am very happy to take any credit you would like to give me for raising three wonderful girls. But let’s not forget those daughter’s that came my way from 3 strong and successful son’s. Nikki, Valerie, and Talea, your cream of the crop.
Ellie says
Congratulations on your book! I learned to cook from my mom and we still love to share new recipes and ideas. I’m working to teach my 5 daughters (and my son) to cook so that when they are grown and on their own I will be able to have the same food connection with them that I have with my mom.
Barbara says

I love how the joy of cooking passed down from each generation in my family. My 40 year old daughter died in her sleep last March. I collected her recipes and placed them in her 4 year old daughter’s memory chest. I’m sure your book will fill our lives with many wonderful meals in the coming years. Thank you for this labor of love.
Jessica says
Blessed to have parents that made family meals together a tradition. With today’s busy lifestyles and work schedules we (my husband and I) still sit down every evening and have dinner time meals with the kids (16 & 13). Just recently purchased my IP and looking forward to learning more recipes and ideas to make dinner in no time.

Mandy says
How exciting! I totally give a shout-out to my two sisters. They give me great ideas, and are there to keep me sane when life gets overwhelming.
Toni says
My mom was a stay-at-home mom with 4 kids. She loved her Italian heritage and cooked like there was no tomorrow. Well, as a working mom myself, I don’t have all day to stir the homemade spaghetti sauce, so the Instant Pot is my hero. I love trying new recipes and experiment with old recipes. Each day is an adventure and I’m loving it. Congrats on your new book. Keep ‘um coming!
Linda says
To my husband, who unfailingly appreciates my cooking or attempts thereof. Congratulations on a beautiful book!

This made me tear up thinking of my own sisterhood. Three sisters and a mom, who all love to cook. I can’t wait to share this with them. It’s beautiful and delicious.
Mary says
Congratulations! I would love to win a copy. I have been considering learning how to use a pressure cooker.
Sheryl says
I am super excited about this cookbook so that I will feel more confident in using my Instantpot more. I did not have a mother to teach me how to cook, it was my love for doing it that made me cook by trial and error. I do find it relaxing and enjoyable. Congratulations on your book launch!
Jeri says
I’ve had four daughters, the three adult daughters love to cook, and two of the three own Instant Pots. They have all grown to be successful women, but I defined my goals for them in a non-monetary way; “You will be a good person, you will support yourself, and you will get an education.” I love them all so much, but it sure is great to have them be best friends rather than squabbling sisters at home.
Congratulations on your exciting venture!
Vione says
What fun and enjoyment I have had sharing pressure cooking with my friends. What I appreciate so much is your behind the scenes work, your research, experimenting and use of experts in their field (having your almond extract tested for arsenic levels). I know I can count on incredible results. I look forward to all the future earth shattering new findings your journey will bring us. Thanks so much Marci.
Verna says
A cookbook would be a great thing for me–I have saved numerous pressure cooker recipes from the internet, but when I want to make one, I can never remember where it is. As long as I don’t lose the book, I’ll be good!
Aly says
Congratulations on your new cookbook! I know your families are overjoyed and so proud of you both.
I have 2 InstantPots…still in the box. ::sigh::
Guess I need to unpack them and get busy.

I am so delighted to read about your journey to this book launch – I come from a long line of good cooks and bakers and I love following in their footsteps! Congratulations on your new cookbook – I hope that sales are through the roof!

I come from a long line of good southern cooks and I am so proud of my grandmothers, man they worked hard but were so loving and giving! My mother always had great from scratch meals for us every night. I would love to feel comfortable with an electric pressure cooker and still have tasty healthy meals for our grandchildren too. Thanks for the chance to have some great recipes to go along with my future pressure cooker, Marci!
Vixki says
I consider you both the absolute guru’s of pressure cooking! Whenever I see a recipe on another site, I always think – “What would Marci say?” and ultimately end up going to your recipes to use, instead! So excited for you both and I will be buying multiple books for my family (I gave my kids Instant Pots for Christmas last year and can’t wait to give them the cookbooks this year!) Congratulations!

To my friend, Page, who has been the dearest of friends for 25 years. She has laughed and cried with me through life’s journeys and has encouraged me every step of the way. Whenever life is hard (which is often), she points me back toward Christ. And, she absolutely rocks in the kitchen!! If I could have had a sister, I would pick you, Page.

What a lovely morning. It is 6:30 here in northern Alberta. The sun is coming up and I’m browsing your blog. The colours around me and in front of me are serene. What a lovely feeling. Thank you for being a part of my morning.
Good Luck with your new cookbook. It is a true reflection of the beauty within you and your sister.
Judy says
My mother is my inspiration for pressure cooking. She made delicious meals with hers.

I’ve been intrigued by electric pressure cooker’s since reading Alecia and Nick’s recipe for pressure cooker beef stew. I’m Grandmother, and I have my own pressure cooker – the grandmother pressure cooker type! Actually I have two of them. I would very much like to come into the 21st century with an electric pressure cooker. I look forward to reading and cooking with your beautiful cookbook.

My sisterhood is my Danish family. My husband’s family is the best in the world. From him, I have a wonderful mother in law, sisters, nieces, and now grand nieces. They have taught me unconditional love and great food!

As a Mom, I am very proud of you both. As a sister, it is what we all strive for. Whether, it flops or succeeds (I have a feeling it will do very well), I congratulate you both. Looking forward to your next project!
Gina says
So exciting for you two! I have not gotten my 2 sisters on the pressure cooker bandwagon yet. I’m trying but winning your cookbook would be a great help as I need help mastering the pressure cooker.
Julie says
Here’s to your book being a huge success! Any of us who use a pressure cooker knows this will be a book we HAVE to get. Thanks for all the great recipes of the past and I look forward to whats ahead. Congratulations to you both!!

My mother worked full time when it wasn’t the “norm” but always made Everything from scratch for us, including pickles and ketchup. We never knew what cake box mixes were until we left home! I am not as good as she is, but she gave me the love to cook for my loved ones and enjoy the creativity. It has even passed on to my son who is now a chef and cooks with love and passion as well. We love spending time as a family in the kitchen every chance we get. And to be honest, with schedules today, the instant pot and the recipes you have created for it, it has made that time spent together even more fun because we have more time to visit and then EAT! ????????

Hope to inspire my two daughters to buy pressure cookers. They are both super-smart, super-strong, compassionate women who love to cook. I can’t wait to see your book.
